In Winter

Really quick sketch of an OC from an old fanfiction I've more or less abandoned at this point. Despite the fact that there is a great fear and prejudice surrounding the development of original characters, I think they're a necessary step in growing as a writer. If you can manage to create a character that not only fits neatly inside the existing universe but makes sense and is a relatable, actual character, then you've mastered the basic skills needed to write characters of your own. Whether I successfully did that in this terribly old fanfiction, I have no idea, but I'm glad I gave it a go nonetheless. 

Bit of background: this character is from my Avatar fanfic called the Break of Dawn, which is still currently up, I believe, on the FFN official website. He's Zuko's adoptive father, and a noble in the Northern Water Tribe.
